Last day at the Office

Friday was my last day at the office.  It was surreal after I packed everything up and realized that I had sent my last business email and will no longer have to read corporate policies.  The office sent me off with a cake and well wishes.  I am now officially apart of the world on the unemployed.

Due to the winter weather I got to come in late and leave early on my last day.  Hooray!!  I wonder if I’ll miss the banking industry?

Our snow covered house.  It’s not much but it was enough to shut down metro Atlanta.

Atlanta Weddings

Check it out.  Kevin and I made it into Atlanta Wedding Magazine.  Everyone has their vice…who needs crack when you have wedding magazines.  Although our wedding planning is all over, you can still often find me flipping through wedding magazines.  I decided to send a couple of our pictures to a few of my favorite magazines and to my surprise we made it into Atlanta Weddings!!!  I know it is narcissistic but I guess having a blog in itself is narcissistic.  I absolutely loved opening one of my crisp new magazines to find a picture of my very own wedding.  It was amazing!!

Holiday Update

This was our first holiday season as a married couple.  We had our annual holiday dinner with our friends Jennifer & Robert and Chris & Rachel.  We missed Kara & Donald this year as they were busy taking care of their growing family.  Jennifer, Kara and I started our Holiday Dinner tradition back in college.  Our only rule is everything has to be homemade and from starch.  Things don’t always turn out but we have fun pretending to be good homemakers.  Rachel and Chris have been such great friends and have had the chance to join us the last two years.  We did let Rachel get away with bringing a purchased cake but it was delicious!!

Kevin and Dylan enjoying cake.

We spent Christmas Eve at Kevin’s parents.  We had a great time with our family, enjoyed good food and opened gifts.

Christmas Day at my parents.  My parents went a little over board with the gifts but what’s new.

Uncle Kevin and Naomi relaxing after Christmas lunch and an exhausting two days of opening presents.

We ended the Holiday Season with a date night with our friends Anitra and Tommy.  We had yummy Persian Food and ended the night dancing.

We hung out on our sofa for New Year’s Eve, cooked in, rented a movie (Star Trek – don’t laugh, it was good) and fell asleep before midnight.

On New Year’s we went to Melissa’s and Zach’s to have pork, collard greens, and black eyed peas.  This was the first time that Kevin had the traditional southern New Year’s Day meal.

Here’s to wealth, luck, and prosperity in 2010!!

Thank you for an amazing 2009.

farewell to banking

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. We had a great time celebrating with family and friends.

Kevin and I have exciting news…I have decided to resign from banking.  I gave my two weeks notice yesterday and will be enrolling in school full time.  Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as this will be an exciting challenge.

Julie & Julia

Kevin and I rented “Julie and Julia” this weekend for date night, my pick.  It was a really cute movie and I identified with the character Julie.  I am not a good cook but I do love the idea of trying to cook to bring a great group of friends and family around the table for great conversation and if all else fails good drinks.    The character Julie had a great line “I have ADD, that’s why I’m not good at housework”. I died laughing because I had found the answer to my lack of housekeeping abilities in a movie.  I’m not currently diagnosed with ADD but I’m planning to get checked out 🙂

Sorry, we don’t have anything exciting to report.  I guess we are becoming a boring married couple that hangs out at home watching movies.

Way to go Jordyn!!

Our niece Jordyn did an awesome job this weekend at her cheerleading competition.

Tooth Fairy

Kevin didn’t get any money in exchange for his recent wisdom teeth extraction but he did get the wonderful care of his loving wife.  Which is priceless.  Kevin was a great patient and quickly got back on this feet returning back to the gym after only two days and enjoying Thanksgiving dinner 4 days afterwards.   He looked so pitiful but adorable while he was recovering.
